Brazil - Joint venture to develop TB molecular diagnostic kit
A Brazilian public health research institute is looking for partners to develop a TB test that detects the agent and its resistance to the main treatment drugs.
The test should:
- be able to detect resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to Rifampicin and isoniazid with high sensitivity and specificity
- perform the diagnosis on an unique molecular biology platform
- perform the diagnosis from clinical samples and/or cultures of mycobacteria
- be made in Brazil
The estimated value is £5.7 million per year.
Participation of more than one company, institution or organisation for the presentation of the same group proposal is allowed.
The Brazilian institute is located in the State of São Paulo.
